We leave Saturday for our first visit to AMI. I was wondering what type of clothes we should bring. We already have reservations at theBeach Bistro. Any suggestions of must see things or places would be appreciated

Chilly here right now, so bring long pants, jackets, etc. Should warm up by end of week. Suggest Mote Aquarium, St. Armand%26#39;s circle, maybe Ringling Museum. Also, enjoy the seafood, fishing, walking the beach, shopping, etc. along the beach.

Have crab cakes at the Rod %26amp; Reel pier restaurant and check out the unusual names for the restrooms. There%26#39;s also the %5.95 all you can eat pancakes and sausage breakfast at the Manatee public beach cafe called appropriately Cafe On The Beach.

Yes, it will be very chilly this week, but should warm up by weekend. A light sweater may be needed for sunset walks on the beach.

Sounds like it is very cold for the local folks right now :-)

But that all depends. If you are used to the (REAL) cold then you will enjoy it like a warm spring :-))

sweater, light jacket and you will be fine... (the sweater is pretty good for the restaurants too!!)

I would say that you def bring some formal cloth because the beach bistro is a bit fancy and when I was there this summer I felt a bit underdressed even with long jeans and chemise...

The sunset is breathtaking though and the service is like it should in this pricerange... awesome!

food is not better than sign of the mermaid but a bit more expensive...

they have a good chiraz there! :-) yummy...

It was really cold this morning. Up to about 58 now, but about 49 when I was at the dog park at 7 AM. We are talking lined jacket, ear muffs, and gloves, and I was still cold. Beautiful sunny day, however!

You%26#39;ll have a great time on the island. We will be there on Saturday too. It is suppose to warm up and be a beautiful weekend but the night will still be a bit cool so I would take comfortable jackets and some long pants.

Beach Bistro is very good, very expensive too but it%26#39;s nice to dress up a little bit, the service is awesome and the view is the best.

I agree w/floridianer 58 sounds good to me. We will be there Sat for 7 glorious days. We have had frost and a sciff of snow but I am still in flip flops. I refuse to wear anything different till we are back from our trip!! I will be barefoot and kickin the waves!!!! Congrats on your first trip. You have made a great choice. I am positive you will have good things to write about when you get back to Kansas!!

gigi, you might want to rethink your attire, it is going to be 71 for the high and 45 for the low over the weekend. Lots of sunshine! It is beautiful weather to me but of course I live here and enjoy the cooler temps when we finally get them. We will be there over the weekend and I will definately take some comfy long pants and a jacket or sweat shirt.

Last night we had a fire in the fireplace and it was 37 this morning in Tampa at my house! I love it!

I know you will have a great trip regardless of the weather and be sure to wave to the crazy lady with the crab hat!
