It%26#39;s nice when you inquire about a function, and at least ONE hotel responds:

I forgot to ask what will be on the buffett...but I think they will post on the website. I also forgot about asking about dress code ( Might still be places that want a sport coat. It says you need to reserve...and please show up or they will charge you $50.00!!!

The tour (TUESDAY THIS WEEK) with Mr Ponce is very good. ( But it used to be less) I don%26#39;t know if $125 is a lot for you for the dinner....it seems like a lot to me....I would still go to the buffet..but I also should go to weight watchers.....

They will stamp your parking ticket so it will be free. (But the valet probably likes tips)

Greetings from Palm Beach and thank you for your inquiry.

Thanksgiving Dinner will be served in the Ponce de Leon Ballroom from 3:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. The price of the buffet is $125.00 per person plus service charge and state sales tax. Children 12 and under $50.00 plus tax and service charges.

Flagler Steakhouse will be open from 3:30p.m. until 9:00p.m. and will be offering a special three-course menu (each course will have four choices). The price is $95.00 per person, children $45.00 plus service and tax charges. Both restaurants are open to the public.

We require a credit card to guarantee the reservation. 48 hours cancellation policy. $25.00 per person for no shows.

The Historic Tour will be on Tuesday November 20 at 2pm. Mr. James Ponce is our Guide. Price is $15.00 per person for outside guests.

$125 a person- WOW! I know the Breakers is a lovely high end spot but I would personally never shell that out for a buffet. Don%26#39;t know who this is for- but the Hyatt Pier 66, Marriott Harbor Beach , Riverside Hotel etc usually have Thanksgiving buffets that are much more reasonable.

I%26#39;m going to re e mail the Marriotts %26amp; Hyatt %26amp; see if they take the time. Never ever get a response from the Riverside (old Chart House).

Never thought to try Marks....I see it has been moving up in the TA dining lists.....so has Le Tub in Hollywood....how..I don%26#39;t know...service is terrible.

Ken- by Riverside I meant the hotel on Las Olas -which usually has a holiday buffet or brunch of some sort- I think you mean River House over by the Performing Arts Center that doesn%26#39;t answer your e-mails. There are usually a number of hotels that have holiday buffets in their banquet rooms- the Marriott just north of Cypress Creek used to I know and a few of the nice hotels out in Coral Springs do ( there%26#39;s Marriott there called Sawgrass I think). I%26#39;m also wondering about the Rennaisance Hotels - I was at the one out in Plantation for a meeting last Staurday and the food was good. Carolina Country Club in Margate also comes to mind- don%26#39;t know for sure but I%26#39;ve been to some nice buffets there in the past- just don%26#39;t know about holidays. I had occasion to go to both Breakers and Boca Raton Hotel for meal buffets in my past life as a conference planner and both were very upscale- but they were treating us- I shudder to think what it may have cost!

I used to love the brunch/buffet at the Fort Lauderdale Grande ( former Marriott Marina on 17th St) but they have been closed for remodeling. I am told they will reopen soon, but don%26#39;t know exactly when or if they still will have that buffet on holidays- was only about $35 pp and so nice- chocolate fountain and made to order creem brulee station ( hmm- always remember desserts don%26#39;t I?) and right on the Intracoastal- hope it comes back- ifr it were open that%26#39;s excatly where I%26#39;d head!

I agree with your opinion of LeTub- but I honestly don%26#39;t depend too much on TA restaurant reviews- for some reason the hotel reviews always seem more on target to me!

I tried something different this time I sent the e mails.

I tried to find the HOTELS website....not its main company....I wrote a list %26amp; will respond with whatever they send.

I already got a reply from the Marriott Hollywood BEach place....an auto reply that said that e maul is no loner any good.....this is a pretty new hotel...I will post anything more local....I think I might not get much.

You are right, I tried the River House...and now again, and also the Riverside....the Atlantic, the St Regis, Mar Harbor Beach, Lago Mar, but not the Diplomat....every time I e mail them, I get a complaint form?????

Marriott Harbor beach is $75 a person, half for kids 16 and under, still pricey for what I%26#39;m looking for, just a classic Thanksgiving Dinner, Turkey Buffet with all the usual sides.

Jackson%26#39;s on Las Olas has a traditional Thanksgiving menu for $45 -- one of the cheapest I have seen.

A shiver went down my spine when I saw this post, until I realised that it was an old one that had been resurrected. For those who don%26#39;t know KenK sadly passed away.

Ken must be saying hello from heaven ,as another of his posts recently got brought back up in the Orlando forum discussing time shares. His wisdom is certainly much missed on many Forums.

By the way, it%26#39;s not buffet , but one of my favorite traditional restaurants will be open for Thanksgiving- the Ambry on Commercial Blvd. just west of the Intracoastal. They are a German restaurant and do all the traditional stuff very wel-,there is a small salad bar included with your dinner ( German potato salad - yum) and it just says dessert included, but I wonder if their great apple strudel and black forest cherry cakes will be options.. I also like that they have a number of small rooms with three or four tables instead of one large noisy space. I think if we were going out, I%26#39;d pick it as my favorite- as I like tradition as well- some of the more expensive spots seem to think they have to glam up the dinner with trendy stuff-I prefer the tried and true.

Most of the large hotels in town seem to have buffets that day in their ballroom- but I haven%26#39;t caught all the ads-Pelican Grande is one that might be less expenive than Harbor Beach- and I wonder about Hyatt Pier 66 as well..

I also noted an ad from Mai Kai for Thanksgiving dinner- they have always served it ( plated not buffet I am pretty sure) every year- I have never tried it and have no idea of quality- but possibly just your basic traditional dinner as well- with a chance to have a barrel o%26#39;rum drink on the side...

Lets us locals keep our eyes open for more...
