Using Credit Cards in St Pete's Beach

Hi there, has anyone had troubles using visa/MC in this area at restaurants etc? Just heard from a couple other canadian travellers that they couldn%26#39;t use their credit cards while on vacation and were stuck with very little cash.

Most establishments take cards. In fact the only one I know didn`t (Aunt Heidi`s ) closed down a few years back. Really can`t think of anywhere else.

Woody%26#39;s Waterfront bar/restraurant is a cash-only business, but it%26#39;s the only one I can think of.

Or do you mean that their credit cards wouldn%26#39;t work in places that usually accept them? If so, I can%26#39;t think of a plausible explanation. I use my Visa all the time (earning those freqyuent-flier points!). Can you elaborate on their problem?

We used our UK issued cards all over the area without a problem.

Thanks, we had just heard that many places in the US are now requesting cash over credit cards. I%26#39;ve done some more checking and it seems that nobody in this area has been having troubles. Looking forward to our trip next week.
