Last year we dh %26amp; I (50%26#39;s) and ds %26amp; gf (early 20%26#39;s) went to Epcot for NYE. They had different music venues set up around the park. We had SO much fun going from venue to venue though most of our time was spent at the techno stage. We were all set to do that again this year and it appears that Epcot is not doing that this year??? So, now we don%26#39;t know where to go. Citywalk is a bit too pricey for their NYE. I noticed that Atlantic Dance Hall had a deal for $20/per and if we combined that with all the other things on the Boardwalk do you think that would be a good place to go? I am so bummed. We have been looking forward to repeating our experience all year and now I hope we can find something comparable. Hope someone can help.
Help with NYE plans, Disney Boardwalk? or other ideas
Not sure how the Atlantic Dance Palace will be, it%26#39;s usually dead in there.
What about Universal Citywalk or another theme park?
Help with NYE plans, Disney Boardwalk? or other ideas
how did you find out what Epcot is actually doing for NYE, we were planning on going there ourselves on that night
www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/christmas_world.htm You can find out what little information there is here. There are also forums, but I have not found them to be much help with what I need this year. :(
If you are planning on going to Epcot (or any of the Disney parks) you need to plan on getting there first thing in the morning and plan on staying the whole day. Most of the parks fill to capacity on that day so they advise you not to even try and park hop. (Epcot is the only one that sometimes doesn%26#39;t).
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
thanks happy traveller, is there anything else to do with a 14 year old boy and 10 year old girl on NYE besides these parks, hate the thought of having to be there the whole day, like over 12 hours,it is mad isnt it, this is our 1st visit so we dont really know what is best, just want to have a good time
Fiona
thanks for helping me out
Fiona-I am racking my brain to think of other things for you to do. Last year was our first year to be at a park on NYE as we never wanted to deal with the crazy traffic getting out of the park (we drive) afterward, plus we usually have to drive home on New Year%26#39;s Day. With all that said, we really had such a wonderful time and the day wasn%26#39;t as bad as we thought it was going to be. We arrived at 8:15 am and didn%26#39;t get back to our condo until 2:15 am. So it WAS a long day, but went by quickly. I do not think I would try any other park on NYE except Epcot because it is the biggest so the crowd is a little more dispersed. Maybe I should ask, where are you staying and since you are coming from the UK I am assuming you will be there a few weeks? Also, what are your other plans and what are your dates that you will be there? You might consider Universal Studios, though I have not done this on NYE and I think parking and exiting will also be a problem. I have read on the disney forums that there are places to view the fireworks from other places so that you don%26#39;t have to go into a park. I will try to post the link for that thread....that may be a thought.

You could maybe have a fun dinner at the new T Rex restaurant (downtown disney) and head to one of the places to view the fireworks.
One other thing...are you aware that if you want to eat a sit down meal at any of the parks, you really need to make reservations?
Sorry, I feel like I am rambling on and on....if you want to pm me ( so I don%26#39;t take so much space here) I can see if I can help you further. Also, you might go over to the Disney forums and post your question there and maybe they could help. Here is another Disney help forum too:

I hope this is helpful.
