I realize this may be impossible, but my elderly (76) mother and I (and elderly, very well mannered cat) are looking for a vacation rental January and February 2009. We are on a limited budget (SS and disability respectively) but really need to escape the WI winter this year. Does anybody know of a place that is decent, doesn%26#39;t have to be fancy, (within walking or biking distance of the beach would be nice but not mandatory) for about $900 to $1200/month? I may be whistling in the wind but thought I%26#39;d try. We remember the island from years ago when we%26#39;d visit my grandparents in Bradenton.
Hopefully there is some kind soul out there who still hasn%26#39;t rented their place yet and will take pity on 2 (really 3) females who just can%26#39;t take the cold and snow anymore.
vacation rentalI′m afraid your budget 900 - 1200 Dollar would fit if it were per WEEK on the island...
Not sure how the prices are inland. maybe you can try somewhere in Bradenton or even more inland.
let′s wait for Kris, Rusty or Chuts. Maybe they have a clou (or sqrgirl)!
vacation rentalThe Springs at Palma Sola or Braden River seem to offer furnished apartments by the month. Neither is walkable to the beach, but Palma Sola is a few miles, Braden River about 15. Both allow cats. I had pm%26#39;d a woman last year who was looking at staying at one of them with a dog. Rates depend on size.
Thanks for your info, sorry I responded late, I was supposed to be notified of any responses but wasn%26#39;t. Again, thanks for the info, I%26#39;ll look into your suggestions.
Sandy
I guess she was looking for a place with 1000 $ per MONTH...
