Hi everyone,
I%26#39;m after some advice and wondered if anyone could help me.
We%26#39;re flying to Orlando on Dec 4th with Virgin.
My problem is that my little boy (he%26#39;s two and a half) has a tumor in his mouth, so he finds it quite hard to eat.. he can just about manage things like chicken, custard, yoghurts and milk ect. I%26#39;ve contacted Virgin who can only offer him cottage pie.
I live in Germany at the moment and fly back to the UK all the time. In Sept I was stopped taking milk on board my flight as they said as my son was over 2, I wasnt entitled to take milk onto the flight.
I explained my situation but they still took the milk off me. I am very worried about flying to and from the USA as milk is the main thing my little boy has. I have spoken to the Dr%26#39;s here about this and they have written me a letter to show at the airport explaining my sons condition. I think Manchester will probably accept it, but i%26#39;m not sure the Americans will accept it.
Any advice ? will Virgin have milk on board the flight if the milk is taken off me ?
My other query is about the kids eat free cards..
as my son is under 3 does he eat for free in resteraunts anyway ? we usually eat in Sizzler, Tony Roma%26#39;s, Olive Garden, Bill Wongs and McDonalds.
Thanks in advance to anyone who%26#39;s read or replied to this.. sorry it%26#39;s so long !

Advice needed.. sorry it's long !I have no idea about the milk issue. I%26#39;ll assume you can%26#39;t bring it into the US because its fresh produce. The only thing I can recommend, since your need is only for a short time until you get to a grocery store is taking some powdered milk with you to get you through.
I%26#39;m sure Virgin will have milk on board
If worst comes to worst you can buy a small carton of milk inside the Orlando Airport as soon as you arrive.
As far as I know kids don%26#39;t eat free under 3 in most restaurants unless it%26#39;s a special %26#39;kids eat free night%26#39; but they can share yours at no cost.
Advice needed.. sorry it's long !hi
I second the powdered milk, once airside at either airport you can buy milk and take it on board with you.
good luck
Chris
My grandson is 7 and when he was a baby...he came to Orlando with us....we took powdered milk.. along with tins and jars or heinz baby food...we got stopped and had it all taken off us at US end....
Once you are through security then you can buy milk to take on the flight so I can%26#39;t see what the problem is at either end.
You can buy milk at both Mc Donalds and boots past security at Gatwick so if they have either of these at manchester you will be fine, however you must dispose of all milk before you land in orlando.
However having said that...my son is 5 and has autism and will only drink out of a baby bottle when he is worried or anxious so we carried one bottle through empty but he had one full in his hand during security checks and they never questioned it at all (this was during may this year)
I have taken tinned baby milk and jars of baby food in several times now, they have been checked at customs but I have been allowed to take them in no probs.
Don%26#39;t rely on the airline to have milk. We found when travelling with my 2 year old that they only have the small milks for tea/coffee and if they have any other, they will be reluctant to fill a bottle/cup.
I was allowed to take a bottle through at immigration as long as I tasted some and then we found a W H Smith in the departure lounge and bought some for the flight. When we arrived we just stopped at a petrol station for more.
You should also find that many of the restaurants in the departure lounge sell yoghurts and soups. Perhaps it%26#39;s worth taking a small flask so that you could buyeither and keep it hot/cold for the flight.
im just back and a lady with a disabled child had to hand the milk in the bottles in a sealed plastic bag,the airline staff then handed the milk back when boarded, the kids eat free card costs 拢10 and is good value i know macdonalds kds eat free when ordering a value meal but not sure about the others,i know most used to offer infants free with paying adults
Hi Madmax
Hope you have a great holiday. We have eaten many times at Bill Wongs and have always enjoyed the food but recently I have read some poor reviews - and wondered if you could post a review when you come back.
Have a lovely time.
Pam
You will not be allowed to bring liquid milk into the United States from another country. Best plan is to buy some after you pass through Security when you leave home and when you leave the US.There is any number of places in Orlando airport you can buy a carton of milk. Definitely bring some powdered milk too-we always bring empty water bottles through Security and never have any problem, just put them in the same bin as your other stuff. Then you can mix some up if you need to before you board.I can%26#39;t imagine any airlines not having milk on board but you never know anymore so plan accordingly.
I would really recommend NOT putting the powdered milk into bottles and instead keeping it in it%26#39;s original container until you use it.
I don%26#39;t know how security will react to an unidentified white powdery substance
