Hi everyone! My husband and I just booked the Hilton on Disney ';grounds'; for mid-December. We got an amazing deal through Priceline for $50/night. I%26#39;m wondering if anyone has stayed there recently and what their experience was like. Based on the tripadvisor reviews it seems pretty nice, but would like anyone%26#39;s feedback. Thank you!
Anyone stay at the Hilton Disney recently?
I was there last August. It was a nice experience. My room was largeish and clean. It%26#39;s very close to Downtown Disney, a couple of minutes walk. I didn%26#39;t use the shuttle but it looked very convenient. I think it stops at other resorts though. You should have access to the Extra Magic Hours as well.
I think you got a GREAT deal!

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I think we got such a good deal because of the week we are going. It%26#39;s supposed to be one of the slowest weeks so they%26#39;re practically giving the rooms away. I%26#39;ve heard some mixed reviews about the quality of the rooms. Did you ask for an upgrade when you checked in? I%26#39;ve heard that they usually allow it if they have the space. Did you eat at the restaurants? Thanks again!
I was only there for one night so I didn%26#39;t ask about an upgrade. We often stay at the Hilton on our arrival night and we%26#39;ve been upgraded to executive level. I think it helps if you%26#39;re Hilton Honors and use the HH check-in line.
We%26#39;ve never eaten in the restaurants. I think one of them is a Bennihana type place. There are tons of good places to eat in DTD and it%26#39;s a very short walk. One of the reasons I like the Hilton is that we can spend our first night at DTD just having dinner, shopping and getting in vacation mode.
I%26#39;ll see if I can find any pictures when I get on the other computer.

BTW We usually spend our arrival night off-site and I get the room via Priceline. 9/10 times I win this hotel. At the right time of year you can get great bargains at the Disney vicinity resort level. I never bid more than $70 and so far we%26#39;ve stayed at the Hilton (many times!), Gaylord Palms and Marriott World Center.

gabsmom,
we also booked there for christmas week, location is great and the advantage of the extra magic hours is fantastic!
have fun!
Great! Thanks everyone! The most recent trip advisor review was less than stellar. Person posting mentioned that the place was filthy and the room smelled of mold and mildew. My understand is that most of the rooms were recently renovated so I can%26#39;t imagine why that person didn%26#39;t request a different room. Glad to hear that your stays were pleasant and you had no problems. Thanks again!
