last yr we went to discovery cove which was gr8. this yr we have nothing at all planned. we hav a 16 yr old daughter.
we want to aviod the parks as last NYE at magic kingdom was horrendously crowded %26amp; expect xmas day in all parks will be packed.
don%26#39;t want to eat a big (well all meals are big there!!) fancy meal anywhere.
will the water parks be busy (or closed?)
we%26#39;ve never been to orlando city, will it be %26#39;open%26#39;?
we%26#39;ll hav a car so is the beach a good idea?
or... will miami be a good idea to spend a few days there?
we%26#39;re staying on I-drive (we%26#39;re normally on kissimmee)so would a few pubs/bars be open?
sos so many questions, but just thought of these few ideas. anyone else got any? all appreciated, thanx.....tom
xmas day question
Hi tom. When i first booked this holiday at the beginning of the year I did think we would spend Xmas day at a park but it does seem that its going to be v.busy. ';Packed like sardines'; someone said so we going to give it a miss. We are thinking of going to downtown disney, going on the boat etc as apparently all that will be open. We%26#39;re not that bothered about having a traditional xmas dinner or anything so whatever is available will do but If you are I think you might have left it a little bit late to get a booking. Apparently the Peabody on I-drive do an informal xmas buffet but not sure if there will be spaces left anyway now. We are staying I-Drive as well and I%26#39;m taking a guess that somewhere will be open to get a drink at least. As for beaches we are going to clearwater halfway through so if the weather was really good (and I didn%26#39;t get lost) we might just head over there. Whatever we do it will be better than here I%26#39;m sure. Merry xmas!
xmas day question
hey Tom...how are you?
Guess what? we will be there too...
I just called Disney dining and booked Xmas day at the german restaurant.
You can try one of the Disney Resorts or Downtown Disney. Another good option is Celebration.
have fun!
brazil.....we%26#39;re ok, you? if u spot me there....say hello! ru going to NYC this time as well? we%26#39;ve just got back.
julie, like u we aint bothered bout havin a xmas dinner, we just prefer to grab a bite of wotever.
we really hav no plans for xmas day , or NYE for that matter (WON%26#39;T be magic kingdom tho! LOL)
we cannot even think of wot to do, but if it%26#39;s warm, we may try the beach or a water park (if they%26#39;re open)
wondering if orlando downtown is %26#39;touristy%26#39; or a bit like downtown L.A. ?? we%26#39;ve never been there.
suppose we%26#39;ll just decide on the day and steer well clear of the parks haha.
unless anyone else has more suggestions???
.....cheers tom
never been to downtown orlando i mean! been dwntwn LA.
might price hotels in miami, if reasonable, pop there few days.
happy xmas to u too julie!
I should stay away from downtown orlando as some posters have said its really seedy. Downtown disney is good though.
