South Beach or Coral Gables?

Are staying at Sofitel for 1 night pre-cruise,will have morning free and want to get a taste of Miami, should we head for South Beach or Coral Gables? and how should we travel around?

South Beach or Coral Gables?

Coral Gables is closer to your hotel. Miracle Mile is the main strip to see, there are restaurants, shops, lots of bridal shops, book stores, etc around here. But not much to see, if you want you could go to the Biltmore Hotel in coral Gables they have tours on certain days of the hotel. I would however suggest you go to South beach there is more to see and do, IMO.

Sofitel, nice hotel, but far from South Beach and other things except the airport. If I were you I would switch my hotel reservation to either downtown or South Beach (perferably South Beach less cab fares to pay then), this way you will save money on the cab fares.

The best way to get around Miami is by cab or by car, or even the Metrorail/MetroMover (if you are staying downtown or along the US1 highway) or the bus for last resort. Check with the hotel and see if they have an shuttles any places other than the airport? For you it looks like a cab is the best bet, but that is going to get expensive.

South Beach or Coral Gables?

Take in the Beach (SoBe) It%26#39;s a lot closer to the port than Coral Gables %26amp; much more interesting.
