I will be in Fort Lauderdale in 5 weeks times and am loking for things to do especially on New years eve. I will be staying till the 6th Jan.

There is not much to do in Fort Lauderdale for New Years Eve -- the biggest gathering is downtown by Riverwalk on 2nd Street, but all thats there is a bunch of bars and a few clubs.

That should be good then, they close off the street on NYE to traffic and setup a ball there too... thats pretty much where everyone heads, it gets really busy... fun place.

Earlier in the afternoon , when it first opens up around 3 , the party has a has definite family vibe- face painting etc. Later in the evening when the bands start it becomes a massive street dance and really does get very crowded-at least if the weather is nice. I think there is a picture on the web somplace of what the crowd is like at midnight- I%26#39;ll post a link iof I find it.
