Stuff to do advice

Well, in just over a month, I will be arriving in KW. It hasn%26#39;t been the easiest of years, and this will be a more low key trip for me, both action and money wise but I want to make the most of it. I did the Tortugas trip last time, which I am glad for given all the recent seaplane incidents (flying in over the fort was just an amazing sensation, and back over the harbor at sunset, wow!). I figure this trip I will run around less and enjoy more :-) in my old (50) age.

So I get in on a Thursday morning (Dec. 18) and am staying off Duval at Author%26#39;s Guest House this time for 3 nights. I figure I will be wiped out that first day (fly all night) so may just wander over to Coffee Mill for a yoga class and take a stroll through the cemetary and go over to Mallory Square. I also want to check out the Seam Shoppe.

On Friday I might go out on an all day snorkel and kayak trip (not the extreme sports, I%26#39;m fine with just a low key trip). I am great on cats (did two trips in Hawaii last May) so look forward to snorkeling bayside. And kayaking! (just did a great windless/currentless sunset paddle Saturday here in the Marina, so I am revved up!)Any suggestions (I know both major cat trips are great) as to which I should take? Then the Conch Tale Hour ;-).

Saturday I will bike around early am, to the garden center, the wildlife center, etc. Then I thought a bike ride to Stock Island and the botanical gardens and lunch, then back to KW in time for a sunset sail (Floridays or Western Union, still deciding). Is the ride to Stock Island far/dangerous (traffic)? I am used to crazy L.A. drivers and bike regularly here, but you never know...

Anyway, that%26#39;s a rough outline. Once I get in, I will post to the list from the library :-) and look forward to meeting any folks from here while I%26#39;m in town!

Stuff to do advice

Sounds like you don%26#39;t need stuff advice, you%26#39;re planned out!

There is sidewalk/bikepath all the way to Stock Island. It starts at Eaton and White,(in Old Town you%26#39;re forced to share the road, the sidewalks are skinny or aren%26#39;t there) then turns left at N Roosevelt, then becomes a bike path over Cow Key Channel bridge. Turn left at College Road.

Stuff to do advice

You have to visit Club Zu...............if you enjoy an interesting nightlife this is one place you won%26#39;t soon forget.

Had heard of that club before. had to goggle it. Yep, a swinger%26#39;s club sure would be a place she wouldn%26#39;t forget lol.

Uh err, that was suppose to be hadn%26#39;t heard of.

We have them here too. Not on my list of to do%26#39;s. :-)

Sounds like you have it all figured out. Don%26#39;t plan to much, you have to save time to relax.

We are only missing each other by a few days.

Maybe next time!

You%26#39;d love the Zu.................it%26#39;s not at all what you might think..........we have a blast there. If you%26#39;re shy just don%26#39;t go to the back room.

We will be there Dec. 11-19th, so maybe we will run into you on our last two days, we haven%26#39;t really set anything to do yet, it sounds like you will be pretty busy.

I disagree. Definitely stay away from Club Zu. There are so many places in Key West that are 100 times better! We%26#39;ve been to Club Pu 4 times trying to give this place a chance, it%26#39;s terrible! The people that work there are extremely rude especially the bartenders. The only time they smile is when you walk away so they can talk behind your back.

And I don%26#39;t know of any place on the island that charges so much for a ';drink';, I say it like that because they don%26#39;t even have a full liquor license to sell regular alcohol. But they don%26#39;t tell you that until after you%26#39;ve ordered and paid for your drinks. How about $40.00 for 2 glasses of house wine and 2 fake margaritas... tip not included! Since they don%26#39;t have a liquor license they serve you ';wine based alcohol';. So when you get a margarita from them or any other type of mixed drink, you basically get a glass of sour mix.. ummmm!

The place always smells bad but the last time we went in it was the worst. We sat on one of their lounge chairs and it was wet, when we touched it and smelled our hand it smelled like urine. That did it for us!

We can tell you more about how bad this place is, but I think you get the picture.

Thanks, for the most part, for the info. I will definitely be biking to Stock Island. Now---where%26#39;s a good spot there for lunch?

Regarding swing clubs and bars, I have no idea why that was suggested to me, I was asking for non se*ual related activities, thanks. I am not interested in anything like that (personal preference, no judgement inferred) so please---let%26#39;s drop it, ok?

I did look at the new boat PJK talked about for a sunset sail possibility---decisions, decisions!
