I will be staying at the ritz carlton and i heard there was a shuttle that takes you to their private beach. how far away is that to the hotel?

also what are the best restaurants around town? I heard bijou cafe is good. but what else is there? how about shopping malls? what are the best and funnest shopping malls? and how far away is it from the hotel. how far away is the zoo or bird zoo from the hotel?

also, how about transportation? are there taxi cabs readily available by the hotel? i dont want to drive. thank you.

Ihe Ritz Beach Club is about a 5-8 minute drive depending on traffic. It is on Lido Key.

Bijou Cafe is very good. There are many places to eat in downtown Sarasota (by the Ritz)

The Selva Grill, 5-one-6 Burns, Pino%26#39;s, Sangria, Vernona (at the Ritz) and many others..

What types of food do you enjoy??

Shopping? You would enjoy walking around St. Armands Circle which you will drive thru on the way to the Beach Club. There is also the Southgate Mall with a Saks, Dillards etc.

There is also an outlet mall in Ellenton.

There are many smaller boutique type shops in downtown Sarasota on Palm Ave, Pineapple Ave and Main Street.

Shopping here is not like Chicago..no Water Tower etc.

There are always cabs at the Ritz and the Concierge can help with anything you might need.

Though you can get transportation from the Ritz to anywhere, Sarasota is not a city where taxis cruise the streets. They are called by phone when you want them and quite expensive. If you will be here for any length of time, you may want to re-think whether you want to rent a car or not.

The shuttle will be less than 10 minutes. As far as nightlife and shopping, St. Armand%26#39;s circle is good. You%26#39;ll drive right through it on your way to the private beach.
