Best beach in Miami

I%26#39;m staying in Miami for a couple of days and would like to know which is the best beach to go.

I%26#39;ve been in South beach before, and there was lot of ';algae'; (don%26#39;t know how to say it)

I%26#39;d like a quiet, white %26amp; clean sand beach. Which area do you recomend? Thank you!

You caught SB at a bad time. Usually it is very clean. But let%26#39;s hear what others say about its condition now. When is your trip? And will you have a car to drive to another nearby beach?

Best beach in Miami

Hi, Chuts! We%26#39;ll be there in Oct 6,7 %26amp; 8 and we%26#39;ll rent a car. Actually I%26#39;ll be staying in Lake Worth a few days before and we wanted a couple of days on the beach. I thought about Miami because we have everything there (Restaurants, beach, shopping), but I%26#39;d like a quiet and nice, turquoise water, beach just to relax and do nothing. Any suggestions, welcome! No night life because we%26#39;ll be with our 7 year old son. Not too many waves sea would be great for my little son. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you are looking for Sunny Isles Beach, selected as the number one travel destination by Trip Advisor in all of USA. It is located in the northern part of Miami Beach and is very clean and family oriented, with all the conveniences located across the street from the beach. All hotels are beach front and shopping and restaurants are across the street.

Sunny Isles Beach has a resort, vacation atmosphere, South Beach has very urban and dirty feel.

Enjoy!

Looks like Sunny Isles Beach is your place ... how%26#39;s the water now, Sim, after so many hurricanes passed recently? Is the water still all churned up?

The water is calm even last Friday, the day Hanna was passing by, the ocean was calmer than ever, go figure.

Ah ... that%26#39;s good ... sounds perfect for the visitor from Buenos Aires.

Thank you sooooo much to you both!

I saw the place and it%26#39;s perfect! Just what I wanted.

You%26#39;ve been very kind and helpful, thank you!

Best regards!

The ';Algae'; you referred to is seaweed, and might be seen anywhere along the Florida coast, including Sunny Isles.

If all you want is a nice beach with some restaurants within walking distance, Sunny Isles is nice.

There is much more within walking distance in the South Beach area.

Hi AniBA

If you don%26#39;t want to be so further north you can try Bal Harbor. My husband and I just came back on Monday from Miami and I also noted the seaweed in SoBe, maybe the hurricanes have something to do with it, because I saw more than other times I was there. This time we stayed in Bal Harbor and the beaches there were beautiful and clean.

Hi AniBuenosAires

We used to stay in Sunny Isles for decades, and yes, I agree, its a very nice beach there. But with all the construction of highrises going there (and the shadow they cast on the beach) we did not like it anymore and changed to Surfside/Bal Harbour in recent years. Surfside has a lot of nice restaurants and the Bal Harbour shops are great for exclusive shopping, but usually we do our shopping at the Sawgrass Mall or Aventura Mall. Surfside has the advantage that you dont need a car, as everything is walking distance.
