Where should we stay at -- suggestions, please?

I need a place in the Miramar Beach/Destin/San Destin/Ft. Walton area on November 1st-3rd (Saturday through Monday.)

In reality, I don%26#39;t care where it%26#39;s at in that general area. There are three couples all in our 30%26#39;s with no kids. We want something that has:

--pool; ocean front is a bonus, but it%26#39;s more important we be withink walking distance to nightlife

--newer, or very clean, structure/unit.

--close (walking distance) to bars, food and nightlife.

--at least two bedrooms

--reasonably priced.

It could be a hotel, a villa, etc. We really don%26#39;t care so long as it meets the above criteria.

Look at this website. It is one of the Beach Retreat Cottages. The owner normally rents by the week, but out of prime season he might consider it. He%26#39;s very prompt at answering emails or phone calls. You can mention that I suggested it, not sure it that will help or not. Good luck.

If you don%26#39;t want to drive to night life, then I suggest you stay in Sandestin. You really need a car in Destin.

Ok--sounds good. Where in SanDestin would you suggest?

Sandestin Resort. A self-contained resort a couple miles east of Destin.

San Destin Beach Resort and the Baytowne Wharf area are nice if you want to be within walking distance of night life. Baytowne Wharf has quite a bit of it and they have a shuttle that goes around the resort area. I am not sure of the hours though.

But if you decide you want to do something else, the Mirimar Beach area is nice and there are a few places with in walking distance from most condominiums on that strip. Also, it is a very short drive to BayTowne Wharf too. You could always take a taxi if needed. Glad you are being safe!

You also may want to take a look at Ariel Dunes, Majestic Sun, and other complexes on the old 98 beach highway. You can find many rentals on vrbo.com. How many units do you need? Check your TA email for more specifics in the mirimar beach area.

No matter where you decide to stay, this is a great time of year in Destin!

I am still laughing -- I just fired the Sandestin deal. What a joke. I did the VRBO path and learned that it%26#39;s a nice spot. However, the ammenity card is $80 a day! What a rip -- especially when the place gets horrid reviews on tripadvisor.

Discouraged a bit, but I am back to the drawing board. So, I%26#39;ll start over ---

Need a place that is within walking distance to bars/pubs and restaurants.
