Best Disney Pool

Which hotel on Disney Property has the best pool for a 5 year old. Also, is early Februaru a good time to go? Thanks for any suggestions.

I will bet, that most people will say, Stormalong Bay at the Yacht %26amp; Beach Club

Our Family enjoys most of the Pools at the Disney Resorts and to be honest, any Pool with a Slide is a Hit. This past June we spent more time at the Quiet Pool ( 6 %26amp; 7 year old boys ) then at the Big Main Pool at POR, they just wanted to get wet and swim and splash :)

Early Feb is a great time to go for low crowds. The Weather could be hit and miss but there will be some sun and the Pools are all heated at Disney Resorts

Our families favorite hands down it Stormalong Bay at the Yacht and Beach Club!

Yeah, I%26#39;d say Yacht %26amp; Beach has the best. I love the slide at POFQ :)

As for February, we go a lot during February (try to avoid President%26#39;s Weekend and the following week if you can) but the weather is really hit or miss. BUT it%26#39;s better than the North East!! We%26#39;ve had weeks where it%26#39;s been freezing, rainy, %26amp; in the 50s every day and weeks it%26#39;s been gorgeous, sunny, %26amp; in the 80s every day.

Another vote for Stormalong Bay for the best pool at Dinsey (Y%26amp;B Club).

Stormalong...there is a height requirement for the slide.

The Boardwalk Pool is nice. Nothing wrong with GF%26#39;s.

February is the perfect blend of nice weather and low crowds.

Stormalong Bay--BUT it%26#39;s not the best for everyone. If you%26#39;ve got younger kids who are too old for the kiddie pool but still need a lot of watching, and if they aren%26#39;t good swimmers, this is not going to be a good choice. It%26#39;s very large and winding, and there aren%26#39;t a lot of shallow areas in the main pool. Kids must be able to swim to use the slide, you can%26#39;t wait for them at the bottom. No flotation devices are allowed on the slide.

The Boardwalk would be a good choice for kids who aren%26#39;t good swimmers or need more supervision. They can wear life jackets on the slide. It%26#39;s a more compact pool area, easier to keep and eye. The pool at the polynesian is zero entry, which makes it good for the entire family.

I would not choose my resort around a pool in early February. The weather can be downright cold with daytime highs in the low 60%26#39;s. It can also be warm into the upper 70%26#39;s, but upper 60%26#39;s and low 70%26#39;s are more the norm. The pools are heated, but you%26#39;ve still got to get out and get back to your room.

With a five year old my choices would be either the Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Polynesian, or the Boardwalk Villas. If those are outside your budget, Port Orleans (Riverside or French Quarter) are both great choices with good pools. Lots of kids love the Dragon slide at POFQ, and it%26#39;s perfect for a five year old.

Takespix is correct in his post. We stayed there last month and our 5 year old could only touch by the sides of the pool. The large slide they have there dumps you into 4 or 5 feet of water so if your child is not an excellent swimmer you must be there to catch him which is difficult because the entrance for the slide is not in view of the end. You really need 2 people, one to make sure the child gets up the stairs ok and the second one to catch. When we were there we had enough adults to do this. There are quite a few life guards there.

Seeing how we are both from Boston, I can assure you, that you will not be thinking it is ever cold in February.

My friends from Florida come to Boston in August and complain the nights here are too cool.

The mornings can start out a little cool but I have never skipped a day at the pool. You should also know in Feb. the sun rises a little later in morning in FLA. and sets about one hour later than Boston.

It has been a bit since I have been to Disney with a five year old. The advice given on the stormalong sounds right but I would give it thought. There are also three additional pools you can use at The Beach Club. One has ducks land on it most everyday, which really makes 5 year olds happy, many 40 something as well.

Maybe look at the Contemporary, I believe a good portion of this pool is shallow. It is also very close to MK.

The stormalong has sand on the bottom which is a big hit with the kids.

Sorry Eileen, gonna have to disagree with you. Compared to the NE (Rochester OR Boston, we get winters worse than you!!) Florida in February is a God Send, which is why I always go down during that time of year. However, I can recall 2 years in the past 10 that we%26#39;ve hit weather where it was 50 degrees outside during the day (maybe only for a few days, but it was still 50.) Which means you don%26#39;t swim. I don%26#39;t care where you%26#39;re from!! Granted we have pictures of my family and they%26#39;re all bundled and I%26#39;m just wearing a sweatshirt, but I still wouldn%26#39;t swim!

That being said, as I%26#39;ve already mentioned, we%26#39;ve hit weather where it%26#39;s been in the 80s all week.

And let me tell you, a week in Florida, even if it%26#39;s 50, is so great in February after all that snow and cold and being trapped indoors all winter! Plus the crowds are low! I think it%26#39;s a great time of year to go!! It%26#39;s just iffy on the swimming weather, that%26#39;s all!!

Well kat: That would be the unusual and not the ususal. I have been there a total of over 150 days in late Jan thru Feb and never missed a day at the pool. I have never experienced a day not reaching at least 70. I guess good old Irish luck.

To my Boston Friend the original poster: Think of a 50 degree day in May in Boston and a 50 degree day in Jan. when the ground has been frozen over and there is snow on the ground. You know there is a big difference between the two.

A fifty degree day in Florida still doesn%26#39;t keep me out of a heated pool in Florida when on vacation.

If you have boxed out this time to go, I would seal the deal.
