Alice,
We stay up on Captiva every year and this year we were a few doors down from the Chapel.
The information I have is:
Captiva Chapel By-The-Sea
11580 Chapin Lane, P.O. Box 188, Captiva, FL 33924
Sunday Services at 11:00 A.M.
Mid-November Through Mid-April.
There is a small cemetery right beside the chapel that you can visit all year round.
';The land was originally owned by William Binder and bought from him in 1900 by Ann Emma Brainard,I believe the amount was very small, something like a quarter or .50 cents. She was 10 years old and died the following year of tetanus and was buried on her small parcel of land along the Gulf of Mexico. Her parents later bought the land surrounding her grave and donated it to the islanders as a cemetery.';
Her grave is marked with a little lamb. My kids walk over every year and lay shells on her marker.
Hope this is helpful to you!
