Arrived around 5:00pm Saturday after a 12 hour drive, so we ordered a pizza from hungry howies (just a so-so pizza) and explored the beach for the evening.
The water was georgeous and warm. Temps were in the upper 80%26#39;s and water was calm and clear with yellow flags. Seen very little Jellyfish for the first few days.
We stayed at the Emerald Isle and being my first time in the condo experience..it was beautiful and VERY roomy with a HUGE balcony! We will never go back to hotels! The pools were small, but with it being this time of year..we had the pools to ourselves.
The weather was wonderful the whole time and yellow flags until Wednesday when Ike was churning in the gulf. Then double red flags and VERY high rips and currents. The water got so crazy the condo took up all the patio furniture and beach chairs from the beach. Thursday winds were very high and a rain drop here and there. We had the pools to keep us company,we didnt let it damper our trip!
There was tons of jellyfish washed up on shore when the water went crazy!
We ate at Pineapple Willys Sunday night, the shrimp and ribs were great as usual.
Monday we ate at Margaritaville..I must say they make it very entertaining while dining there. It is a must eat at place. I had a couple margaritas there and I must say they were some VERY strong drinks and I can hold my liquor!
Another great place for drinks we went to was Harpoon Harrys..I love the outdoor bar and having a couple hurricane drinks while watching Ike stir up the water just seemed appropritate.. ;-)
We tried to go to Schooners one night..arrived around 9:00pm and they already did last call..I was bummed..so I took a picture of the place and went back to Harpoon Harrys.
We took my daughter and her guest to Ripley%26#39;s believe it or not..I personally thought it wasn%26#39;t very entertaining but was surprised my daughter loved it(she is 20).
We ordered a pizza from ';Mellow Mushroom Pizza'; One night and it was delicious! The home made pretzels were good too!
We took a shell island cruise one day it lasted for well over 3 hours and served us a sandwhich drink and chip lunch ,not bad for all that entertainment for 18 bucks a person. They only offer cruises once a day now that summer is over.
Back at home now..its raining and going back to work tomorrow...back to the real world :-(

Trip Report Sept 6-13
So Pattie.... you are spoiled on the condo thing. We got spoiled to and will never go to PCB without staying in a condo with a big balcony. Having the extra room to move around is nice. Washer and dryer is wonderful, you can pack less to take with you when you leave home. And return with clean laundry ready to put up when you arrive home.
Glad you had a good vacation.

Trip Report Sept 6-13
I agree with previous post. Condos are the way to truly relax - being able to buy yummy fresh-steamed shrimp from Cardenas and chow down al fresco on the balcony for sunset is wicked awesome! Being able to pack less clothes since you can launder in your condo also helps bunches. Wish I was going to be there next weekend for Lobster Fest at Schooners and hope there is a beach left after all of these storms.
Great trip report!
We have been going to PCB for 25 years and have done the Shell Island tours several times. But which one did you do that offered food??
The Ashley Gormon Shell Island cruise offers the lunch.
You could also rent a pontoon boat for either a full or half day and take your own lunch and beverages. We are going to do this for the first time in October when we go. I heard you see alot of dolphins on your way to shell island. Hopefully we do!!!!
