We arrive Miami about noon one day before our NCL cruise in January. Should we stay by the airport? The port? South Beach?
We don%26#39;t have transfers so were planning to take cabs around. Is this smart? Should we just rent a car for our one day of sightseeing?
Thanks for any help!!
Miami Hotel/Car Rental for a Cruise
Cabs can get expensive. Depending on what you want to see in Miami, renting a car is a good idea. So decide on what you want to see first, do you want to go out to the Everglades National Park, do you want to go to Bill Baggs State Park on Key Biscayne, do you want to go to Viscaya (you can take the bus and Metrorail to this one), do you want to go to Coconut Grove? Or do you just want to go to South Beach? Decide on this first, then you can see if you will need a car or not. If you want to see Miami, its best to rent a car.
As to where to stay...I always tell people to stay on South Beach before a cruise, especially if they have never seen South Beach. If you are coming in late (which you are not) and just need a place to sleep and then wake up and get on the ship, downtown is fine. I wouldn%26#39;t suggest the airport either, not much around there. South Beach has many things to see and do. Plenty of restaurants to pick from, and the beach is there.

Take a cab or shuttle to SoBe. It%26#39;s the most interesting place where you can possibly stay; everything is within walking distance %26amp; it%26#39;s not that far by cab to the port next morning.
Thanks for all your help! We booked the Anglers last night. Can%26#39;t wait!
If i can add a question to this thread. How much would a taxi be from miami to south beach and then south beach to the port. Thanks
Sorry I meant airport to south beach
