SECOND visit ideas

Hey folks. Just want to echo my appreciation for all the threads. I%26#39;ve only contributed a little bit to try and pay back all the wonderful info.

Anywhoo, the wife and I will be making our second trip down on New Year%26#39;s Day, as we will return to the site of our nuptuals to celebrate our first anniversary on the 5th. I know there have been a lot of threads on what to do on a first trip. I%26#39;m curious if anybody has any ideas on what to do for a second? We both work a couple of jobs each, and are just looking for some R and R. But we%26#39;d also like to have some ideas as to what to do and where to go. We plan on hitting some things we couldn%26#39;t the first time, due to all the wedding planning, but am open for suggestions.

Thanks so much again.

What did you do the first time?

Its hard to suggest NEW things to do when we don%26#39;t know what you%26#39;ve done or what types of things you like to do.

Key west is best (IMO) when you don%26#39;t plan anything. When you get there go do what you want when you want. I wind that%26#39;s the best way to have a fun and relaxed time in Key West.

Bottom Time and I are once again in sync... KW is the best place in the world to really not make plans.

You%26#39;ve already been down once, so you have a good lay of the land so to speak. Maybe once you get down, go for a walk around and go into some places you didn%26#39;t the first trip. Lord knows i%26#39;ve gone more times then i can remember and i still stumble across new things=)

Other then that method, just jot down some names of places you%26#39;ve heard about on here that sound interesting. have a good time my friends... I%26#39;m hoping to be back in february.

Same here jaywepp, I have a list of things I might want to do (not to be confused with a %26#39;to do%26#39; list). :) I spend time reading here and take notes of the cool things other people have enjoyed doing. I take the list with me and consult it every now and again picking off things that fit the day. I never finish everything on the list and that%26#39;s good because I always have a reason to return.

Hey Cometguy! Well without knowing what you have done I can absolutely make you some recommendations on things I know worked well for me! I really enjoyed the Wine and Dine cruise! We really planned dinner for that activity, and the rest was spontaneous! I would not miss out on that! I suggest doing a do-it-all tour, or maybe visit Dry Tortugas which was something really cool! Yankee Freedom was the best, however, if you are looking for a cheaper option Sunny Days is a good choice! You just do not have as much room per passenger on board. I found a lot of the activities on my itinerary at http://www.bestonkeywest.com. Check out it out they have a nice variety of activities to get some info on. Hth!

I am going to take a guess and say you didn%26#39;t leave Key West on that first visit. Why don%26#39;t you take a day or two and visit some of the other Keys.

Thanks for all your replies. I suppose saying some things we did the first time would have helped! Besides getting hitched, we did a sunset sail...rented bikes for a day...did one of those walking tours (the Jimmy Buffett one)...hit some of the famous bars....and did tons of walking. I guess our goal is to not have too many plans, but we%26#39;ll actually have free time this go-around to do some events. Not necessarily a ton of cash to do those, mind you! I love hearing about the spots locals head to; those are always quite telling to me.

Thanks again. This forum is truly a blessing.

One more note, since I hit return a little too soon. We did hit the No Name Pub on our way back to Miami, and spent a couple of days in Islamorada. We%26#39;ll have a car this time for the whole week.

As for restaurants we dined at: Roof Top Cafe, Sarabeth%26#39;s, Conch Republic Seafood Co. (our reception was there), Camille%26#39;s, the vegan place that slips my mind, Rum Barrel, just to name a few.

Thanks again.

Rent bikes again, take the back streets, stop everywhere.

Do the trolley

Go to Hog Fish for a meal

Feed the tarpon at Robbies or stop at Aqua Ranch to feed the Cobia and snapper. We stopped in there the last trip, and it is a neat little spot. The owner is VERY excited about his place.

If you go to Aqua Ranch, have lunch at Sparky%26#39;s - the fish tacos are a crowd pleaser and we LOVE the tres leche dessert.

Go to Schooner Wharf Bar about 9:00 PM for the magic show.

Walk through the cemetery.
