Sterling/Dollar??

Hi All

Due in Florida in 5 weeks. This is our first time (me, hubby, 13 yr old son).

Is it possible to change sterling to dollar whilst in Orlando and if so would the rates be better??

Not sure if this is a stupid question - we have done all inclusive holidays for the past 5 years or so, so exchange rates have never really been an issue!

Can%26#39;t wait to get there though - really excited now.

Thanks

Chris

Sterling/Dollar??

Hi

I wanted to ask the very same question

K

Sterling/Dollar??

Unless market rates change in the meantime (so, in other words, all other things being equal) you are better (in order, best first)

- using a credit card issued by a UK Bank like Nationwide who don%26#39;t charge or load the rate, for all purchases that you possibly can, and paying it off in full when due

- using a DEBIT card and withdrawing cash from a US ATM (major bank) - again provided the issuing bank doesn%26#39;t load the rate or change fees

- using cards as above issued by UK banks that DO load and/or charge fees

- changing into some form of dollars (cash or travellers cheques) before you go

- (**worst of all**) taking 拢拢拢拢拢 with you and changing it in the US.

You really have to get some money though....I mean you need tips and tolls practically as soon as you land, it would be aweful not to go with any local currency!

Also if you rely on your card..what happens if that card gets lost, stolen or stopped? Your left with nothing.

I always get some money before we go, travellers cheques can be used in shops the same as currency and they give you change if needed. So i normally get what I need in currency %26amp; tc, then use my card as back up or extra. Dont forget to notify your card provider/ bank you will be in the US....if it suddenly starts getting used in another country excessively then they sometimes put a hold on the card and you cant use it.

I wouldnt take english money over there, you will be searching for places to exchange it.

no they,r not when it was 150 here it was 144 in orlando and they charge you $5 to change it,i was lucky i got $2 to the 拢 but sis waited and got poor rate there

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; You really have to get some money though....

Yes, agreed. From an ATM for the best rate.

So take %26gt;1 card as backup. (Of course!!) What happens if your money gets stolen?

Agreed, and it will cost you.

If you want to change some to bring with you, go to Crown currency as they have the best deals.
