Has anyone done anyone done a vacation stay at this property? (meaning not there for cruise, business etc.) We are looking to use points and the property looks interesting. We would miss being on the beach, but the water taxi sounds good. Any info would be great. Thanks
renaissance fort lauderdale
I think the Renaissance is a fine property, mostly for pre and post cruisers. I wouldn%26#39;t choose it based on location for an extended vacation, especially without a car.
renaissance fort lauderdale
I tend to agree with Pat- it%26#39;s ambiance is more business than resort- and while you could Water Taxi, you would have to walk a little ways each time and it runs really slowly , so it would be a long trip to get to the beach- you%26#39;d be better off on the city bus that runs by and across A1A if you decide to do it, I think. I think it needs more green space and a more elaborate pool to be on my ';vacation ';list. More suited in my mind ( like Pats)for a one or two nighter. The Ft. Lauderdale Grande or even Hyatt Pier 66 , both near it, have more of a resort /vacation vibe to me. I realize the value of the points, but I personally wouldn%26#39;t be able to be enthusiastic about using them that way.
Since Renaissance is a Marriott produce, have you tried Marriott Harbor Beach or Marriott Courtyard? Both Marriott%26#39;s are on or across the street from the beach.
duh....that would be Marriott product.......
Thank you all for input. I%26#39;ll keep looking. We have to stay in the Marriott family. We%26#39;ve done harbor beach before, like to do something different. Thanks!
You might want to take a second look at the Courtyard Ft. Lauderdale Beach. It is a step or two above the typical Courtyard ( and charges accordingly) and has only been open about a year. It is across the street from the beach and has a poool that overlooks the water. Not as upscale as the Harbor Beach Marriott, but would put you right on the beach and the rooms are really very nice - lots of favorable reviews here.
