tubbies,

It really depends on how comfrotable you are doing your own research. For example, as you read the posts in this and the Orlando forums you will see that there are some locations and companies who are highly recommended and others that routinely get trashed.

If you are willing to do the work, I think you probably can get a better deal on your own than by going through a travel agent, but you must do your homework.

Check out all the web sites for Kissimee and request the free literature available merely for the asking.

As for myself, I have not used a travel agent in many years.

hi went last year as part of a largs e group. bought fly drive tickets with virgin (as this was cheaper than flights only at the time) and then booked villa direct from internet - we had no probs whatsoever - search engine will show lots of great sites. we stayed at emerald island resort which was excellent location for theme parks etc. we got a 6 bed, 6 bath villa which was amazing value for money. everything out there is so cheap - food, clothes, fuel! def worth going at the moment. We also took an hours trip down to the coast, followed by a baseball game- brilliant experience and cheap, made a lovely change from disney.

I always book it independantly myself. I book the flight direct with the airline and pay by credit card, this way you are covered if the airline goes bust. I book my villa with www.just-florida-villas.co.uk or www.vrbo.com. If you use a travel agent then make sure it is a reputable company, i.e. Co-op, Virgin, Thomsons etc., as these have dedicated admin teams. Some internet sites offer lower prices but there is absolutely no after sales service should you should have problems or need to speak to someone, they are just sales generateed.
