New Years Eve 2008

Hello!

Some friends and I are going to be in Tampa for New Years Eve and we had some questions...

1st - Are there places in Tampa that offer packages for NYE with open bars? Where could we find a list if there are some? When should we start looking?

2nd - Where should we stay?...We do not not care about quality, we just need a cheap place to sleep.

3rd - Any recommendations for where to go?

Thanks for any help!

John

There are places that offer packages for NYE with open bars. There are also spots that have a cover charge and then have a cash bar. I would probably check www.tbo.com maybe in November? I%26#39;m not sure when places will start advertising.

Where to stay depends on where you end up going for NYE. I will say that cabs are hard to come by on NYE. Last year we waited almost an hour for a cab going out and ended up sharing a cab on the way home because we couldn%26#39;t get one! That being said, I would stay very close to wherever you end up going out. I would probably suggest downtown area, as it%26#39;s close to most nightlife. Options include Embassy Suites Convention Center, Marriott Waterside, Westin Harbour Island, and less pricey options Residence Inn and Courtyard Marriott both downtown.

Recommendations - I don%26#39;t know yet what is being offered, but it might help to know your ages - are you a bunch of singles or couples - and what type of place you are wanting to go. I think that in the past Mangrove%26#39;s on Howard has had a package with open bar up until a certain time (until midnight?). Jackson%26#39;s on Harbour Island has had a package in the past as well I think.

Good luck!

HEy!!

We are kinda in the same position. My friend and I are 26 and are going to be in Tampa NYE from Long Island, NY. We are not sure what to do..a lot of the bar/clubs are not 21 and over. We are kinda stuck. We are looking for a fun bar, to chill, hangout, dress up and dance with out the lil ones or our grandparents. Can anyone help????

and when I say lil ones I mean 18 - 21...LOL Looking for a nice 24-35 crowd!!

Maybe Mangrove%26#39;s or Jackson%26#39;s or Hyde Park Cafe? I guess I have the same answer as last year...check out www.tbo.com for updates on places. Most bars are not under 21, so I%26#39;m not sure why you think that? Maybe a few in Ybor City area are? Ybor City has TONS of bars to choose from, though, I%26#39;m sure you could find one that you liked :)
