I know I asw a thread on this awhile back, but did this place reopen? Seem to recall it changing to the Twisted Dish, then possibly back to Meteor Smokehouse again?
Meteor Smokehouse
Yes it has reopened with new owners and management but almost the same menu, including recipes.
Meteor Smokehouse
It%26#39;s open. We had a great lunch there about a month and a half ago. We had the soft pretzel and loaded fries as appetizers, then the pulled pork sandwiches for the main course. Sooo much food.
There%26#39;s a great piece of graffiti on the wall of the men%26#39;s bathroom-a whimsical drawing of a jellyfish with cartoon eyes and a caption below that reads ';Jellyfish don%26#39;t pay rent!';
I, for some reason, thought this was both brilliant and hilarious. I snapped a photo and now this picture hangs in my bathroom at home.
That%26#39;s sick...taking photos of pictures in a men%26#39;s room. This one%26#39;s in B.O.%26#39;s men%26#39;s room...

I remember seeing that sign myself, pjk! Pretty funny. Bob and Mari, I%26#39;ll have to check for the jellyfish if we make it down in March - like that one too.
Not that this was in Key West, but one of my favorite bathroom wall sayings ever was written on the wall at Zeno%26#39;s in State College, PA: ';Tonight%26#39;s special: moderation. Make mine a double.';
I tried Meteor BBQ when I was in Key West in August, and it was not bad at all. It certainly is not up to the standard of BBQ joints here in Memphis, but then again very few are.
';Jellyfish don%26#39;t pay rent'; is from a Buffet song or perhaps he was at the Meteor and saw that and then came up with the song. Which came first, the chicken or the egg.
Try the green beans! Love the green beans at the Meteor. And Tom is very entertaining.
Hey, you%26#39;d think I would have known that! Just looked it up. It%26#39;s from a song called ';Mental Floss.'; Thanks for the heads-up. I guess my Buffett song collection is still far from complete.
LOVED the Meteor on our first trip. It had just reopened within the past month, and the owner bent over backwards to make sure our meal was how we wanted it. We enjoyed it; food was tasty, and the prices quite reasonable. We plan on going back in January.
