Hotel outside Miami

We are flying into Miami late at night and then driving down to Key West early the next morning. I%26#39;m looking for a hotel outside Miami, but still on the route to the Keys. Any suggestions?

I, too, like the idea of staying at or by the airport. There%26#39;s a whole family of Marriott hotel brands very near by that you could check out if you don%26#39;t like the in airport option.

If you want to drive about 30 min then you can get to Florida City, Gateway to the Keys. New-ish Holiday Inn Express here. It would also position you nicely to see the Everglades for a couple of hours in the morning so you kill enough time to let Alabama Jacks open!

There is a hotel right in the airport. You get your bags and take the elevator up to your room. It%26#39;s clean and ease (it%26#39;s right there) and it has a good restaurant (we have stayed there).

The when you get up you can get your rent a car and go.

I would time it to miss rush hour weather it%26#39;s before or after it.

Thanks everyone for your help. The Holiday Inn Express in Florida City is exactly what I was looking for. I want to be as close to Key West in the morning as I can without driving at night.

And if you stay at the Holiday Inn Express, you%26#39;ll be able to do brain surgery, pilot a plane or one of several other occupations. (I know it%26#39;s true... I%26#39;ve seen the commercials!)
