Duelling Dragons

We%26#39;re back in Orlando from Oct 24th and just wanted to know does anyone have any idea whether DD will be open?

I%26#39;m sure I read on here somewhere that it might be closed sometime due to the Harry Potter World construction works??

Hope not as its our favourite ride!

Dueling Dragons are still open for now. They will evenutally be incorporating it into the new Harry Potter World, but for now, they are still open.

I was told by a cast member that Dueling Dragons will not close for the Harry Porter construction. They will change/redirect the queue line but the coasters themselves will remain open.

I don%26#39;t see how they are going to change the paint scheme on them without closing the coasters at some point.

The only change being made to the Dueling Dragons is the paint job, but that%26#39;s pretty extensive.

I don%26#39;t really know. The cast member I spoke to made it seem like the only change they were going to make was to the queue line (castle) not the actual coasters.

I%26#39;m going to the parks this weekend, I%26#39;ll ask around again.

Perhaps they%26#39;ve changed their plans about the coasters since I was there last year and maybe they are not re-painting them after all.

Lord knows they need a new paint job though. Fire and Ice are looking rather ragged these days.

The Harry Potter World is not a ride, but a whole new section of the Islands of Adventure theme park at Universal.

Work has already begun work on the Harry Potter land at Islands of Adventure and it will incorporate about 1/2 of the current Lost Continent area.

From the point where the Sinbad show is located over to the ';entrance'; to the Jurassic Park section is where the H.P. section will begin in the currently part of the park.

Dueling Dragons is not going away, but will be ';updated'; with a H.P. theme and paint job most likely.

Scheduled opening date for the entire H.P. section is Spring 2010.

Maybe they can paint the rides one at a time whilst keeping the other open - I know they are pretty close at times but I%26#39;m sure they could paint these bits overnight or with a one day closure.
