Family 2 adults and 3 children - ages 8, 10 and 11. Looking for 5 nights at beach after doing Disney. Which would be best. Thanks
clearwater or marco island
Clearwater Beach will be two hours closer in drive time, and Marco Is. may be more expensive.

I have to admit to being a Marco Island fan. I%26#39;ve been there many times, and taken my family and grandchildren who loved it too. I have visited St Pete%26#39;s and Clearwater, and don%26#39;t think you would be going far wrong with either, but Marco has something special about it, and quite a different atmosphere. The beach is like no other. I think it depends where you are flying back from. If you%26#39;re flying from Orlando,it%26#39;s about a 5 hour drive back. Anyway. good luck
The answer also depends on what you are wanting to do. Clearwater has more activities and has more restuarants and night life. Marco is more relaxed, and a bit more expensive. If you chose Clearwater, you would be closer to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island if you wish to do this.
If time permits I would chose Marco...by the time you leave Disney the children will probably want to spend time on the beach and Marco is quieter and more relaxing.
I would choose Siesta Key in Sarasota or Clearwater Beach. The sand is so nice at those two beaches, although there arent many hotels on Siesta Key. You have to find rental properties. One of my favorites is Palm Bay Club. Marco is a long way down, and really isnt anything more then you would have on Clearwater or Siesta Key. Sand Key, just south of Clearwater Beach is also a nice beach, Sheraton Sand Key would be my choice if staying there.
Clearwater Beach is close to cities that provide many things to do: Tampa, St. Pete in addition to Clearwater. And Pinellas County has the award winning top beaches at Fort Desoto Park and Caledesi Island. Busch Gardens in Tampa if you haven%26#39;t had enough of amusement parks at Disney.
