Will be in Tampa for business for a week, starting tomorrow. Staying on Clearwater beach for weekend Sept 19th-21st. Haven%26#39;t picked hotel yet, but Amber Tides looks very reasonable and well reviewed. What is there for a single 33 year old to do at night on the beach ? I enjoy a few cocktails, and some low key craziness, but my clubbing days are long over. Looking for some place fun, yet laidback. I am at a tough age: don%26#39;t want to hang with loud, young kids, but also don%26#39;t want to hang with bluehairs and the partially deceased. Any good places to go on Clearwater beach for me ? Where are they located in relation to Tides ?

You won%26#39;t be too far from Frenchy%26#39;s South Beach restaurant/bar. Check out Shephards Resort. It will be pretty close to you also, just a short walk. It is really the party spot on the beach, very active pool and beach scene. Younger crowd mostly, but it might be good during the day or early evening, may get too loud/young/rowdy at night or a weekend though.
The Hilton is next to Pier 60. Go down there for the nightly sunset celebration. A couple bars there that seem just right.
For casual meals/drinks check out the Palm Pavilion - Sounds like it will be great for you. Beach and water view, open air bar, and seating on a deck directly on the beach. Live entertainment most nights, mostly low key, no loud rock bands, just a guy with his guitar usually. Might be a bit far to walk (25-30 min maybe), it%26#39;s at the North end of the beach, but there is the inexpensive beach trolley, or it will be a very short cab ride.

I say Palm Pavillion. I am in my mid 30%26#39;s as well and am done with the rowdy drunk kids and I really enjoy this place, its very laid back, I love how its on the beach and they usually have a 1 man or 2 man band , its open air bar... the food is good too if you wanted to grab a bite to eat. Its actually next to Frenchy%26#39;s so you could do both of them.
Hopefully not to confuse you. There are 4 different Frenchy%26#39;s. The one near the Palm Pavilion is the Frenchy%26#39;s Rockaway Grill.
The one closer to your hotel, is Frenchy%26#39;s South Beach.
There is also the Frenchy%26#39;s Saltwater Cafe that is next to Cooters (bayside, not directly on the beach)
Don%26#39;t worry about the 4th one. (VERY small place but good for take-out)
Frenchy%26#39;s Rockaway is right on the beach. It has casual dining but also a ';drinks'; area with live easy beachy music nightly. I recommend This one to all my out of town visitors and they are never disappointed.
