Understanding Tipping

This was on line yesterday. It should - should not be controversial.

Understanding Tipping

Oh Cookie, what have you done ? ! :)

Understanding Tipping

I don%26#39;t think there%26#39;s a lot of information in that article, if you weren%26#39;t sure when or how much to tip, I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;d be much the wiser after that!

Everyone. Take a deep breath and ignore this subject line.

I do remember a time in NY when we were checking out. The doorman was great and ordered us a car to take us to the airport. He did all the work, but because he wouldn%26#39;t be on in the afternnon, I tipped him in the morning. We then came to check out and get in our car, it followed thus;

bellhop took our bags down to secure area-tipped

checked out

another bellhop took bags to car-felt bad, so tipped again

doorman held door open, with umbrella due to snow and helped us into car-tipped

another doorman put bags in car-tipped

little old lady walked past, said hello-tipped

Well kidding about the last one, but it probably cost us about $20 just to get from our room into the car.

Sheeesh!

Errr...did someone mention the T word? I have a bad feeling... which has nothing to do with the financial crisis.

Where is Vegas when you need him?

Partypa,

This forum has been too subdued for a while!

MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm can of worms coming up.

Anyone notice that so far there is only fear of the coming controversy rather than the controversy itself?

I am reminded of a saying, ';Calm before the Storm';.

I might be wrong though.

Cookie, Vegas is in Orlando ( or at least somewhere in Florida ) I%26#39;m going to look for him Tomorrow !!

PS He will be sorry he missed your Post
