Old Key West or Port Orleans

I promised myself that the next time I go to WDW I would stay at Port Orleans but now we have the opportunity to stay at Old Key West for the same price. Which one do I choose? Family of 2 adults and 1 child (going August 2009 for 2 weeks). Help please!

Old Key West or Port Orleans

We like French Quarter, lovely hotel and nice pool, going again in Setember 09.

Old Key West or Port Orleans

We have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside twice and really enjoy it. It is our home away from home and our first choice when staying on Disney property. T

That being said if you can get Port Orleans or Key West for the same price you may do better at Key West. What type of room will you be getting there? I know since it is DVC ( Disney Vacation Club) some of the rooms have kitchenettes....so if that appeals to you that might be something to consider. I also think you will find the rooms at Key West slightly larger than at Port Orleans.

I would suggest googling both resorts and looking at the photos and descriptions to help you make a decision. Either way I think you will be happy.

Old Key West is the original DVC resort and has much larger rooms with more amenities. If you are getting OKW for the same price as PO, go for it.

The only thing you may not like about OKW is the size of the resort, if you don%26#39;t care for long walks.

Here%26#39;s two links by which you can compare the three:

Kats right - you will get a much better and bigger living space at OKW. You can always pop on a hire boat and cruise over to PO for a look if you want.

I have stayed in POR and loved it thought it was fantastic

But for our holiday next year we have booked OKW.

Reasons being 2 bedrooms, more living space and kitchentte thing.

Plus got a fantastic deal

yes there is a offer for this resort 44% of have you looked at the free dining that is available for these dates

I got the free dining for our holiday makes the deal even better,

plus 14 days park hopper for price of 7 days seems good

are you booking yourself

if you look on disney web site for price for this hotel in november it will come in at 拢3000 pounds you are getting a good deal the same hotel in augest next year comes in at 拢1300 with free dinning

OKW, no doubt. You still have the boat to downtown disney and you get so much more room.

This might be one of the oldest vacation clubs, but it looks great. The magical express bus stopped there when we went to POR, and from what we cold see it looked very nice. We also went through Saratoga Springs, but we liked the look of OKW better.

We enjoyed POR but would take the upgrade even for a slight fee, the same price is a no brainer.

Thanks so much for the all the feedback. Yes, the 44% discount with the dining plan and 14 days park tickets for the price of 7 are the things that makes it cheaper. I%26#39;m booking myself as this is working out a lot cheaper at the moment also, have already booked flights and car hire with BA. Am only looking to go for a studio as there are only the 3 of us (me, husband and our son will be 9). Looking at the the photos OKW looks great but BIG - so maybe need to look into the best area to request a room? As long as we%26#39;re not too far from a pool and somewhere to grab a snack we%26#39;re pretty easy - don%26#39;t mind having to walk a little bit.

This same deal is also on for Saratoga Springs (comes out at the same price) so this was an option also but from some reviews had noted that OKW seems to get a bigger thumbs up. Stayed at All Star Movies last year and was fine but wished had gone for a moderate resort instead.
