leaving the kids home alone (grown up !!)

keep nagging my 3 kids..(22.19.17)

made a list for them.. The older 2 have left home before and come back so they just laugh at me .

Told them DONT trash my house .so on so on and on on.... and on

I think they just humour me but I have a secret weapon..ma in law lives in the next street and will call anytime haha

plus Victor Meldrew lives next door !!

anyway I will threaten to hold the duty free fags and booze ..(the worst threat of all)

I know I will still worry though especially about eating ..Why do we mums do this..

You are right to be worried about them, even at their ages and the MIL and VM are a great touch.

Having said that, as a good Mum I can think of better things to bring them back than fags and booze. Maybe you should bring them back a supply of cheaper nicotine patches so they could give up. After all, they have plenty of time ahead for their bodies to repair the damage.

Or better still take them with you to drive, carry the cases and pay the restaurant bills. And make sure they don%26#39;t trash your house with a wild party.

neither me or their father have ever smoked..Have bought them patches before..Glad the youngest has got some sense..he doesnt smoke..

did offer to bring them on hols but they didnt want to come!

anway the freezer is full as is the pantry glad the eldest will ave to be at work and the younger 2 at college..

they do tell me that they are not as bad as I was at that age(according to my mother!!)

i to can think of better things to bring back than cancer, liver failure and a shortened life span.

I do have another threat

last year when younger son was having an emo phase he had his photo taken arm in arm with Mary poppins at MK ..could put that on his my space and show his college friends..

totally agree with the smoking..wil give the fags and booze to elderly mother in law instead !!

I currently can%26#39;t wait until my kids are old enough to leave home! Is 13 technically too young or do you think I could get sympathy from a jury if so? : )

ALB101 you have my sympathy ! I did enjoy the kids when they were younger but enjoy them more now ..we have just moved out of the troublesome angst of adolecence and I feel I can communicate in English now and not grunts

happy puberty ALB

When we go on holiday I threaten my youngest (only one left at home - 21 yrs old) with his Grandma - if he has any parties etc he will never be allowed to stay on his own again and his Grandma will come and look after him........................

We have left my kids at home (dd 21 ds 18). We filled the feezer and cupboards before we left gave the usual warings bout wanting to ave a home to come home to lol.

First phone call everything is hunky dory, dog is even beng walked without a fight lol. After fisrt week we get a text to call home. My son(he denies it of course) left the freezer door open and everything has defrosted. They have been eating cereal and beans on toast for 3 days.

Now the debate starts here do we leave them to fend for themselves or do we bale then out ands get my mum to give them money. I remember when my parents went on holiday we lived on toasties for 2 weeks and kept the food money for other things!!!.

Well my steak at outback suddenly didn%26#39;t seem to taste so good.

We baled them out...it%26#39;s hard to enjoy yourself when your kids are playing the guilt card.
