I%26#39;m bringing my 5y grandson to Clearwater soon. All he wants to see is alligators. Any reccomendations for an attraction within 30 miles or so?
Also, I enjoy landscape photography so it would be great to hear about some lovely natural spots/parks, etc.
Any other info on Clearwater is appreciated. TIA!
Alligators - Tampa Bay - and natural beauty
Post this in the Clearwater forum to get more answers. You will see alligators and more at the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. Then there is Busch Gardens and the Aquarium also in Tampa.
For your photography, try to catch some of the sunsets over the water. There is a place in nearby Largo called Heritage Village which might provide some Kodak moments.
If the grandson is interested in Dinosaurs, there%26#39;s a little known attraction in Lakeland (it%26#39;s a little more than 30 miles, but might be worth the trip) called Dinosaur World.
Check with Google for details on any of the above.

Thanks!!!
you could take a peek at Fort DeSoto Nat Park, no gators but fab beaches and it does have the fort, i got some really nice shots
me again; just thought the little guy might like to see dolphins too; in clearwater harbour directing opposite the pier, theres a little boat we have taken several times for dolphin watching, the trip out isnt too long so he would get bored, never more then half mile from shore actually. on the way back you get to hand feed flocks of seagulls too. the boat is the clearwater express, cant miss it, got a huge model of a dolphin stuck to the bridge, fount it the first time using TA reviews actually
Thanks! Sounds great!
There is a small park in Largo with a lake (Taylor Lake) that has gators in it.
The Florida Aquarium in Tampa has gators galore that you can get really close to and even touch a baby.
There is an alligator farm with loads of gators on interstate 4 between Tampa and Orlando.
