We are planning a trip for 2009 and will stay at the Worldmark property. I just returned from a trip to Victoria, BC and they had something called a ';hop on, hop off bus';. I have discovered that Seattle has this available too. You pay one fee for two days of transportation. You can ';hop on and off'; whenever and wherever you like. Does Orlando/Disneyworld have anything like this? I%26#39;m wondering at the cost of transportation/parking if we are not on a Disney property. I%26#39;m not really a city bus person and taxi%26#39;s are getting quite expensive. I really appreciate your input!
Thanks in advance....kit
Transportation if staying at a Timeshare
which worldmark? (now wyndham)
there is the I-ride trolly which goes up and down International dr
Transportation if staying at a Timeshare
www.mearstransportation.com is a privete Hire company that has shuttle, Taxi and limo service
www.golynx.com is the Public Bus transportation in Orlando
I have no experience with the location of Worldmark properties so I%26#39;m not sure if using the Public Bus will be available for you
If the Location is not near the Bus route, you might want to think about Renting a car, in the long run it might be easier and cheaper
SCAN60 is our transportation Expert, hopefully he will see your Post and reply
Thanks so much for the quick responses. I just read one of SCANTO%26#39;s posts - quite informative but man is this confusing.
It is my friend%26#39;s timeshare but I recall it was on International.
You should be able to use the I-Ride Trolley and the Lynx Bus :)
Partypa, just took your suggestion and checked out the trolly. WOW, have you read the reviews here on Trip Advisor? They are NOT good, although the last one is from July of 2008. Really has me wondering if it might just be better to rent a car.
If we are at the Wyndham on International, is it easy to find the different parks? I would imagine that parking is not cheap.
Thanks so much....kit
I think the one you%26#39;re talking about is on the corner of I-drive and Sand Lake Rd, can%26#39;t recall the name of the property though.
There are various shuttles to and from the parks try:

Using the local Lynx bus service would be cheaper and is more reliable than the I-Ride trolley and it covers a greater area. You can get to all the parks using the Lynx.
Scan60 is THE expert and is very helpfull in responding to posts or pm`s.
You must understand that the only parks that the I Drive trolley has a stop at is Wet%26amp; Wild. Sea World and the new water park Aquaticia.
It goes now near and Disney Parks, and its a one and half mile walk to Universal entrance..
So don hope on doing to much Hop on/Hop off, unless its to catch other buses ( that being plural)
Miskitty, Just saying hi. Hope you had a great trip to Victoria and really enjoyed your stay. I thought the Worldmark there was great. We don%26#39;t do that much traveling, but seem to be going all the same places that you are: Victoria was August, and now we%26#39;ll be going to Orlando in December. We%26#39;re doing condos in Orlando too but the Sheraton Vistana not the Worldmark.
Based on what gets thrown up by Google, you can get about by LYNX buses. You will need to get on to International Drive, which may involve a short walk, and then find a bus stop.
In this area, LYNX 8 operates every 10-15 minutes between Premium Outlets (just south of you), past Sea World, along I-Drive to Prime Outlets, and then proceeds to DownTown Orlando (not much reason to go there).
You would use a northbound 8 first.
Where you get off depends on where you%26#39;re going.
For Disney, get off on Sea Harbor Drive and transfer to a 50 going the other way. The 50 will take you to Disney%26#39;s Transportation %26amp; Ticket Center from where you would take the monorail, or a boat or bus, to the attractions.
For Sea World, the 8 takes you right there.
For Universal, you get off the 8 two traffic llights past WetNWild, cross the street and take a 37 to Universal.
It%26#39;s not hard to do, but you will get some clarity if you study maps of the area to get an idea of the geography and the locations of the attractions and so on.
For ease/convenience, a weekly pass ($14) saves you from needing to find exact change when you get on the bus. Buy it in advance from either of a couple of outlets on I-Drive. If you aren%26#39;t staying a week then you can get a one day pass for $4 from the bus driver (exact fare only).
