Hi
I am thinking of visiting florida this xmas new year we did west coast last year san f la and vegas and think america is amazing we have 10 days again
i麓ve been looking at map and am considering flying into miami, and hiring a car defo want to go down to key west and everglades are these day trips as such
We are not bothered about lying on a beach as we live on a beautiful island and are all beached out! we like great scenery and interesting places/attractions, pretty towns ...any suggestions
Would it be best to base in miami for 10 days or do say 4 days miami then move around
would doing a circuit miami - keys -fort l - fort myers - orlando - daytona beach and back to miami be doable if so how long in each place
sorry im just trying to figure out a route to get me started on planning west coast seemed more straight forward!
Thanks S x
Is this doable?
Here is my suggestion for 10 days. From Miami plan on a couple of days to drive down through the Keys...Islamorada is a good base. Remember the Keys are about 100 miles long and it is a two lane highway (one lane each way). When you come back to the main land go through Homestead (eat at the Farmers Market Cafe ~ good home cooking) and hit hiway 41 (I prefer this to Alligator Alley). You will start driving through the Everglades and see many air boat rides, etc. on this drive. Anytime you can pull off the road look along the canals and you will see lots of alligators and beautiful birds plus the trees are full of air plants. Do stop at Shark Valley and take the tram through the park...well worth the time and money. You could stay in Flroida City at this point. Continue on hiway 41 and you will drive right through Naples and then Ft. Myers. (Why Ft. Myers? you know you can fly there don%26#39;t you?). Orlando is an easy drive from Ft. Myers but Sarasota is a nice visit along the way. I would say your proposed route is doable but be sure and have advance reservations and it is not too early to make them right now. If I can be of further help let me know...
Is this doable?

Overnight in Miami and start out fresh the next morning for Key West. Key West is unique and has a lot of history. The drive from Miami on the ';Overseas Highway'; to Key West is about 3-4 hours. And it IS all about the ride. Beautiful. On your way to or from, you can visit the Everglades. Take in a lot or a little because the park is BIG. The entrance is south of Miami.
Allow at least one night in Key West. Take the Old Town Trolley to see the sights.
Don%26#39;t miss the special places on the Overseas Highway on each island. John Pennekamp State Park on Key Largo is underwater by the coral reefs.
Miami Beach has got it%26#39;s good points also.
Drive north an hour to Palm Beach (not West Palm Beach) and see how the wealthy reside.
fishing in the Keys is outstanding in April. Not only can you catch some tremendous fish you can see the most beautiful part of the Keys.
