Parking at the Gansevoort South Hotel

What are the options for parking at the Ganesvoort or in the area?

The hotel has valet service and you can also access public parking lots westbound along 23rd street.

Parking at the Gansevoort South Hotel

HI, AdvisorGirl,

If I parking there, it is safety?

thanks!

I stayed at the Gansevoort 7/27 - 7/30 (waiting for my review to clear). Valet parking only, at $38 per night. At first we thought we would just find parking - there is a public parking area on the other side of the new W Hotel that they are building. But when we tried to use the meter parking ticket distributor thingy, at least three different strange men approached us in attempts to sell us parking tickets. It made us very uncomfortable, and concerned about what would happen to our car if we left it there, since we didn%26#39;t partake of their ';deal';. We also had concerns about running into these shady types after dark if we wanted the car at night. We just bit the bullet and used the valet. Needless to say, we didn%26#39;t use the car once during the three days (just to get back to the airport). You may not really need a car...it seems more of a liability than an asset in SoBe.

Thank you very much, SanniAtTheBeach!

Hi again%26gt;

There are parking lots to the WEST of the hotel toward the fire station (on the side of the street where you find Talula Restaurant) as well as these beach front lots to the SOUTH. All public parking lots are government run and open to the public though the beach front lots are SOMETIMES rented to a valet or private service. If a random guy approaches and has no uniform nor ID representing a legitimate parking business, he is probably a street hustler or a con man. You were right to go away.

Truth is you do not need a car if your interests are on South Beach. ALSO there is a car agent RIGHT next door to the Ganesvoort (Avis, National and Alamo too) so you could reasonably rent a car at the airport and sightsee the first day in Miami and then return it at the hotel agent and pay no parking. Or you could hire the car at the agent near the hotel and do a day on the road (outlet shopping at Sawgrass or seeing the city) and return it at that agent the same evening or the next morning and park just one night. I believe most agents near the hotel are open around 8am -6pm but do ASK so you can return the car on time.

I made you a map of the rental places here

Your answer is perfect. thank you again,

I am staying at the Gansevoort Hotel next week and will probaly need to leave my car for 30-40h in a parking lot.

I found the info that it is a $8.00 maximum for parking lots. Is this maximum per day or do i have to pay $8 and can leave it there as long as i want?

Thanks a lot!

Again, unless there is a specific reason why you would need a car, you DO NOT need one if you stay in the South Beach area (between 1st and 23 st in Miami Beach)

as just about all is within walking distance.

Parking in South Beach can be scarce and expensive, and will likely cost you more than $8 per day.

I am staying 3 nights at the Gansevoort, but it was cheaper to take the rental car for 7 days instead of 5 and i want to go one day to the sawgrass mall, so i took it for the longer , as i haven%26#39;t decided on which day to go. I just want to drive to the mall and then park the car for 1,5 days.
