Hi, can anyone tell me if the love bugs have arrived yet? I know that they are harmles and only last a few weeks but they can be very anoying. Thanks for any replies.
Love bugs
Not yet, but I expect to see them soon. :)
Love bugs
The sooner the better for us as we arrive on the 27th.
what are love bugs? how would you describe them please.Do they make noises or what? i have heard you all speak about them but i dont know much about them.Thanks.Yorkbabe.
Yorkbabe, They are black fly like things and they fly around in pairs, totally harmless but as oneshift says, they are very annoying and tend to stick to things ( not like flies who fly off if you move).
Last year they were later coming out and were still around when we came home 12th October!
Lovebugs come in pairs. If you do see them while walking though, they are really kind of neat and are always ';stuck'; together. They are completly harmless and there is not need to squish them yourself. But...are rairely seen that way if you are driving on any of the roads when they are in season! They are a mass of squished black bugs generally found on the front portion of you car and windsheild. They are a pain to get rid of once attatched to it. A quick drive through the car wash as soon as possible will help with the manual labor of removing them at a later time. This is a time for rain when driving. And try not to use you windsheild wipers(unless raining) while driving when they are squished all over it. It will just smear them all over.
No love bugs yet..but LOTS of mesquitoes!! I think the mesquitoes are probrably eating the love bugs...lol.
We just came back today and no love bugs. I also got a few mosqitoe bites, as well we found the wasps very bad at typhoon lagoon. In fact my son was bitten twice.
FYI--Just spent yesterday afternoon and evening at Disney Studios and Epcot. There were no love bugs or mosquitoes bothering us all day, so Disney must be spraying at night for the mosquitoes. (Also saw no fire ants...)
any news of the bugs yet?
Hahah this post made me LOL
We were in Sarasota (Lido Key) in late April early May this year and we were COVERED in them. Our last day it literally RAINED love bugs, never seen it sooooo bad.
They are annoying but harmless, I can still picture my Mum swatting them with her newspaper.....
