Ike Fallout

We%26#39;ve only gotten any news about the Texas coast. Anyone on Marco who can give us updates? We know it cut a path up the Gulf. We%26#39;re worried about our friends and fave places on Marco. We know Marco didn%26#39;t get hit directly, but fall out can be bad. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Annie

Annie, All is fine here in SW Florida...high tides and off and on rain but nothing to worry about. We have had numerous wind and rain bands come through but no damage.

Thanks for the info. Ironically enough, I%26#39;m just now getting this reply because, we%26#39;ve been and still are in the middle of a massive blackout due to Ike fallout. Winds from Ike hit us early Sunday afternoon and the entire city%26#39;s been shut down ever since. Some places are finally getting power back. (A lot of the schools are back up and running.) Some of us will be in the dark until next week. It%26#39;s been really rough, but I can%26#39;t imagine what this must be like with driving rain and floods along with the wind. All we got was the wind, not the whole huricane. So, we%26#39;ll count out blessings however small they may be and clean up and patch up as best we can. I sure could use a trip across the Jolly right now!

Wow...I can%26#39;t believe you were hit that bad. We got the winds and rain, too, but no power lost in my area. Hang in there!

Jackie, we couldn%26#39;t believe it either. Who would believe we got hit that hard by a huricane in Ohio?? I%26#39;ve run from Charlie on Marco, no problem. I ran from Andrew (that was a killer and also shows my age!!) Not a problem. Here comes Ike. Jeeze!! Was home alone with 2 of our kids. Hubby was in New York being wined and dined by the New York Institute of Art. He was on the cell phone telling me about the smoked salmon at The View while I was cracking open another can of Pringles! With Pop Tarts for dessert! (I did have the frosted ones, so we were good that night!) While he was being wined and dined on Broadway, I was in a war zone with the kids. While he was living it up in NYC! (Story of my life!) So, I%26#39;m angling this into an extra trip to Marco. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
