Beach Photos Sept 14th After Ike.

Since there has been so many questions regarding the beach conditions, I took a few, and in a couple I clearly did not know what I was doing. Uploading them, another thing I obviously do not know how to utilize the site properly.

All photos are from the Crystal Beach Area. NONE from Holiday Isle.

Sorry about the poor quality, but I think everyone can be rest assured OUR SUGAR WHITE SAND IS STILL THERE! I think there will be more of it when the Gulf finally calms down. Still very choppy out there and red flags flying.

This photo was taken from the deck of the Henderson Park Inn looking east.

This photo... well.... It PROVES I am NOT a photographer. Apparently the lense was still foggy... going from air conditioner to hot humid air.

This is the pompano Beach Public Beach Access directly in front of Grand Caribbean Condos

Beach Photos Sept 14th After Ike.

Thanks soooo much Semco! We are planning to be in Destin on October 23rd thru Nov 1st and your photos really help me out here in Missouri!! I am so glad that Ike spared Destin, but my thoughts are with Texas and I hope and pray they are all ok! Would you believe Ike came to Branson lastnight! Took a few trees down and lost power. Only 57 mph winds for about 3 hours straight! I dont see how the folks make it through an Ike. Thanks for the photos, BarB

Great photos Semco; thanks so much for posting them, and taking time out of your day to do it.

I agree, it doesn%26#39;t look that bad, and I am sure by the time I get there summer 2009, it will again be awesome.

We had a little bit of Ike here too; mostly a lot of small, quick to touch down and go back up tornadoes; we did have 40 mph wind gusts with some damage there and a lot of power outages across the state, but we didn%26#39;t get near the rain that was forecasted. I can%26#39;t even begin to imagine what the Texas people experienced; if outer bands caused that much damage, it is very hard to comprehend their loss.

You did a fine job Semco. It looks much better than what I have been hearing! Good to know - my hubby was concerned that we would not get much ';beach'; time the weekend of the Seafood Festival. He will be pleased - thanks again.

Thehotmomma - where are you staying?

Thanks so much Semco. Those pics are great and put me in a better mood this morning. If you see Kyle and Mike renting chairs and selling shaved ice at the Pompano St. Beach access tell them that Dave said hello.

Thank you for posting, Semco!

We are going to be down there in 26 days - can%26#39;t wait!

:)

That made my day thanks Semco.

Thanks so much for taking the time to take the photos and post them on here for us. Looking forward to being in Destin in 2 weeks!

These are great pictures. When we left on Thursday AM the 11th, the waves were crashing all the way to the retaining wall at Holiday Surf. It was a scary sight, but these pictures make me feel so much better. Thanks for sharing them with the rest of us. Nana

Great pics Semco. Thanks for the update on our favorite, Crystal Beach.
